Hypermedia environments are more and more used to implement quickly interactive systems especially in the domain of education. Considering the lack of experimental results, it is still necessary to carry on studies on the structuration of LMS architectures in order to obtain more interoperability and an easier management of the knowledge.
A such study has been realised during the conception and the realisation of an original environment for the management of on-line training.
We proposed to divide these systems in 3 independent layers: Support level, Structure level, and semantic level. Our work have demonstrated the interests of this modelisation. We have also shown how the functionalities of an existing e-learning system used at the INSA of Lyon , fit into this structuration.
To implement this proposition, during his PhD, S. Benadi uses XML technologies. The implemented system allows to present pedagogical documents adapted to each learner . In this system, XML enables the teachers to add the meta data required to construct the adaptative pedagogical activities . All the processes involved during the generation and the display of adaptive hyperdocuments are described in S. Benadi PhD manuscript.
